The Essene Gospel of Peace: Fact or Fiction?

Today I talk about the book, The Essene Gospel Peace. Many make claims about this book, but my studies show me often these claims are not as they appear to be.

There are many good resources out there to show the Bible’s accuracy. Chip Ingram has a series called “Why I Believe” at lote.org. Hank Hannegraf “The Bible Answer Man” has many books. Ravi Zechariah, Ken Ham of creationmuseum.com or answersingenesis.com, drdino.com, “The Case for Christ” by Lee Stroebel – all good as well. Mainstream resources like PBS, The History Channel, & The Discovery Channel do not show the complete truth.
Keep speaking the truth Paul, even if persecuted – it’s to be expected, but it’s a blessing. :)

Thanks for taking a stand Paul. I think that you did so in a way that was firm and true to your faith. It is important that we all research the things we believe!

    Hi Paul!
(i am from germany, so forgive if my english is not perfect).

Thanks for that i was allways led from these books. I am a christ follower and have red the bible and the dead sea scrolls and i have red a lot about bible history and i have to say that there are many differences between the bible and the dead sea scrolls. And there a number of bibleexperts (Bruce M. Metzger; Anton Mayer;Mr Wilberforce, Skriver etc)that say that some of the material of the dead sea scrolls is older as the texts in the new testatemnt.(i know there are conflicting views). But the differences are sometimes huge. For example the theme of reincarnation, which was even accepted by the catholic church until 553 a. D. (the council of constantinopel) is in the dead sea scrolls (gospel of phillip), also found in the nag hammadi codex 2.
But you are also right the meaning is what counts and that is mostly the same.

    love
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
I know the essenes had some different ideas but if you look at books like Isaiah it’s almost the same word for word. Either way Yeshua didn’t say the things the gospel of peace says he did and the dead scrolls don’t say that either.

Paul…Thanks again for stepping out and speaking it out!

Have you heard of the Gospels of the Holy 12? I think that’s the right title? This is another ’strange’ misrepresentation of our Father’s words.

    Keep Going!! Luv It

    Hi Paul:
I have never posted a comment anywhere but I really felt led to do so today. I recently tried to read the Essene book (certainly not The Gospel) and quickly realized that it is total fiction and not even well done. Highest praise for being so straight and sharing that it is indeed a change of the heart…there is no other way. Blessings to you and your family for your work!!

    Hi Paul,

Nice to hear your take on this. I read it a couple of months ago and was VERY disappointed with it. I didn’t bother looking into its legitimacy any further as it was obvious to me by the language, that this book wasn’t what it claimed to be.

Wow! Where in the health industry today could we have gotten that information! Nowhere, I’d venture to say! Thanks so much, Paul! If you’ve got more info of this nature (not necessarily just on the Essenes) please bring it on!!!

Shabbat is less than 2 hours away–enjoy! Shalom, Connie

Love what you said about the Essenes fiction.

For anyone wanting more information about our modern bibles, professor Veith gives a wonderful explanation of the differences in modern bibles.
