Wars and rumors of wars. Earthquakes. Famines. Disease. Genetic experimentation. Children being taken from religious folks in covenanted communities. Loaf of bread for a day's wages. Peak oil. Unequal scales of Ephraim. The Prime Minister of Israel holding direct talks with the King of Syria, promising to cede Golan Heights and return to pre-1967 borders, thus dividing the land. The Great Bastion of Hope, and Defender of all that is right, the United States, getting weaker and more pacifistic by the day.
What is going on?
Is this just all a coincidence? A self-fulfilling spiral of doom? Apocolyse 2012? Or are these merely the birth pains that were prophecied long ago?
Either way, it appears that we are on a path that will forever alter the way we in the west have come to understand our place in the world.
People are scared. Unrest is all around us. It is easy to be afraid. And yet we are instructed to "Fear Not." If perfect love casts out fear, we need a big dose of reality that helps us dwell in the abiding depth of that perfect love. For this year's conference, we felt very strongly that we wanted to pull together some of the best speakers that can shed insight on these times in which we live, men that can help motivate us to dig deeper into the Word.
We need to be reminded that our Deliverer, Israel's Deliverer has told us the end from the beginning. He has told us the troubles that we will face. He has told us how to prepare, what to prepare for, and by whom we will be attacked. He has promised us land, children, a future and a hope. He has left a story which, upon closer inspection, tells us that we might be more a part of the original promise to Abraham than we currently believe. He has left a footprint for us to follow in the story of the Exodus. But best of all, He has promised never to leave or forsake us and that none will fall from His hand.
Come spend the weekend with us and learn more about our Creator and the Greatest Love Story Ever Told. Put it all in perspective and get answers to your biggest questions: why me, why now, and now what?
